My Story.

Hi, I’m Dawn, and I’m the person behind Granite Worktops of York.

I love interiors, I love good design, and I probably get a little too excited about a really nice slab of stone! For me, choosing a worktop should be enjoyable, not confusing. There are so many colours, materials, finishes and edge details to choose from, so part of my job is helping you make sense of it all and find something that genuinely works for your home. Some customers walk in knowing exactly what they want. Others come in with a kitchen plan, a Pinterest board and absolutely no idea where to start. Both are completely fine.

Over the years I’ve worked on all sorts of kitchens, including plenty with awkward corners, unusual layouts and the occasional “how are we going to make that work?” moment. That is usually where the fun starts. I enjoy finding solutions, making the details work properly and helping turn an idea into something that looks right in the finished space.

I’m also a big believer that the smaller details matter. The right edge profile, a matching window sill, a splashback or the way a vein runs through a piece of stone can make a huge difference to the overall look.

More than anything, I want the experience to feel personal. You can ask questions, change your mind, bring in samples, photos or kitchen plans, and we can work through it together. No pressure, no complicated sales talk, just honest advice and a bit of excitement about creating something you will love living with.

That is what Granite Worktops of York is all about for me. Great stone, good design and looking after people properly from the first chat to the final installation.
